Josh saw javelinas!

No flashlights needed. And we battled against teenage warewolves, too. (Apache Lake, AZ)

Deep into a discussion of 80's pop culture-- We're very intellectual you see.

David contemplates the inner workings of Gordon Schumway.

Proof in pictures. Me, a self-declared 'non-camper' in front of the fire. (Apache Lake, AZ)

It's a good thing there were no small children around. We might have run out of firewood.

I made it through the night. Barely.

Day 2, of course. Just look at that 'camping hair.' (And WHY is David wearing a beanie in 75 degrees? Must be having a bad hair day too...)

Expensive photo filters or playing with sunglasses? (Apache Lake, AZ)

I actually slept in that tent. Or at least I tried to, anyway.

Tour de Fat

One of many "freaks" present that day, this guy pridefully sits atop his stilted bicyclical monstrosity.

A photo taken from behind my back while riding, I had no idea that Josh was waving until after the fact.
After the ride, in the shade and finally hydrated, the New Times happened upon us. We've been assured of our future fame, mind you. (Tempe, AZ)

In numbers larger than they appear above, and despite the record high October heat, the Tempe Tour de Fat was a real traffic-stopper. (Tempe, AZ)

C-I-N-E-M-A

The main theater is complete with gold curtains, a stage, and a balcony with sofas. Who wants to go to the multiplex now? (Tucson, AZ)

My mother used to live here

And I guess in the late 1950's it was white, and came equipped with some sort of cement plant shelf where that rock garden is. (Tucson, AZ)

This is where war planes go when they die

Planes, planes as far as the eye can see.

This shot would have been a lot better without that yellow sign. (David took it, not me)

Most graveyards have grass and a delicately manicured lawn. In Tucson, the planes rest in weeded peace.

Again - Top Gun has nothing on this guy.

Did I ever tell you about flight school?

It takes a keen mind and alert disposition to fly an airliner. I should know. (Somewhere above Tucson, AZ)

I'm looking for a co-pilot. Anyone interested?

Just look at that thumbs up - beats the hell outta Top Gun if you ask me.

Like sands in an hourglass

Or clouds reflected in a man-made lake. Whichever.

Just a little guy

Unlike his tropical cousins of the Galapagos variety, this "Russian" only gets to be about 7" at best.
